Head of Procurement - Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas, Defence Portsmouth - Hybrid Competitive Benefits - Full-Time, Permanent About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Procurement to lead the global procurement function across our Group. This is a strategic leadership position, ideal for someone with a marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or engineering background who can drive transformation and embed best practices across a complex, international organisation. This role will focus on centralising direct procurement operations, bringing contracts and supply chain control back into the procurement function, and creating a unified, high-performing team that delivers value, governance, and operational excellence. You will report to the CFO and work closely with key stakeholders in Finance, Operations, and Projects, as well as manage a globally dispersed procurement team. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a global procurement strategy aligned with the Group’s five-year business plan Centralise procurement processes across all international sites Oversee global supplier performance, import/export operations, and risk management Establish robust procurement governance, KPIs, and scorecards Drive contract negotiations to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce commercial risk Develop strategic and tactical procurement teams, focused on delivery and transformation Manage and enhance vendor relationships, including long-term contracts and supplier approvals Resolve complex supplier disputes and support high-profile project procurement activities Support operational delivery, including projects related to ship maintenance, vessel upgrades, subsea systems, and defence assets Key Requirements: MCIPS qualified with significant post-qualification experience Proven experience managing global procurement in complex organisations Strong background in marine, offshore, engineering, shipbuilding, or defence sectors Skilled in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and global supplier management Experience leading change programmes and organisational transformation Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills Ability to manage RFQ, ITT processes and supplier onboarding through to contract award Strong understanding of contract structures (e.g., BIMCO, NEC) Desirable: Experience in procurement for subsea systems, ship maintenance, or offshore mobilisations Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint Experience managing procurement for UHF comms equipment, electronic assemblies, or military marine assets What We Offer: Competitive salary Bonus Benifits Flexible hybrid working model International travel opportunities High-impact, high-visibility leadership role Dynamic and supportive working environment Ready to shape the future of procurement in the marine and offshore sector?
