The job in a nutshell

The Events & Experiences (E&E) department is responsible for selling, managing and operating a successful service delivery of all social, corporate, ticketed and wine education events that take place within the Berry Bros. & Rudd portfolio. This role will be responsible for selling, planning and managing ticketed experiences at our home at No3, St James’s. The role will also be hosting wine and spirit focused events and supporting the management of producer events, creating long term value within the wider BB&R business.

What you will do

Overview:

1. Bring customers together through the pleasure of sharing the finest wines and spirits whilst creating links and connections across all divisions to bring the best of BB&R to life
2. To promote, sell and control the resources of ticketed events and to achieve or better budgeted revenue, cost and profit targets
3. Maintain a high level of communication, ensuring Event guests contacted appropriately to share detail before an event and feedback afterwards
4. To assist Experiences Manager with planning, promoting and coordinating ticketed events
5. To plan, manage and host events and experiences at No.3 St James St. including Producer Tastings.
6. When necessary, support the Events team (Corp/Social) with the organising and hosting.
7. Ensure client and guest (both internal & external) satisfaction at all times.
8. Consistently provide and offer professional, passionate and engaged service
9. Reporting into Experiences Manager

Administration and Sales:

10. Consistently provide and offer professional, friendly and engaged service
11. Responsible for responding to all customer enquiries regarding events and experiences in a prompt and polite manner
12. To assist with overseeing the Events diary, ensuring that bookings are accurate and up to date.
13. Deliver tours of the BB&R spaces if needed, sharing our heritage with guests.
14. Organise all allocated events, from booking to post-event feedback, including maintaining the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication
15. To ensure regular liaison with the kitchen and wine cellar regarding dietaries/allergens, food quality, customer feedback, stock levels, wastage, ordering etc.
16. To entertain existing clients and prospective clients as necessary to achieve goodwill and secure business accordingly.

Hosting:

17. Host a range of ticketed Experiences, in person, on behalf of Berry Bros. & Rudd. Including Tutored tastings ranging from introductory to deep dive courses in both a classroom and lunch/dinner environment.
18. This will include working evenings and some Saturdays.
19. Assist in supporting other hosts from across the business on more in-depth tastings
20. Host events alongside wine and spirit producers
21. To support with the hosting of corporate/social events when necessary

What you will bring to the role

Experience / Achievements

22. WSET Diploma, WSET Level 3 will be considered
23. Experience of working in a fast-paced event sales.
24. Experience hosting wine events
25. Experience of working with high net worth customers as well as corporate customers
26. Proven ability to plan and organise events effectively, with an acute sense of detail

27. Passion for hospitality, wine & spirits.
28. A strong team player, career and results oriented with the ability to be flexible with hours, days off, assignments and additional duties.
29. Understanding of what ‘great’ looks like.
30. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
