Leadership qualities Leadership, management and operational Be responsible for strategic management of Tier 3 adult clinical weight management services to ensure a safe, effective and accessible service. Lead the delivery of the Weight management service and create documentation to determine and develop performance indicators and analyse data to facilitate decision making. Lead the team through a period of renegotiation and transformation, evidencing the ability to maintain boundaries of the role in the face of differences of opinion, competing agendas and external pressures. Develop networks and work in partnership within the commissioning ICB and also with key partners. To work collaboratively in the planning and delivering of weight management services. Responsible for communication and effective dissemination of highly complex, sensitive information, to appropriately influence service development, to provide an effective service for clients and to advocate on behalf of clients. To achieve this you will communicate highly complex, sensitive, relevant detailed clinical and policy information in an understandable form. Negotiate, persuade, motivate and counsel in order to provide information in an appropriate form to clients and/ or their carers and families as well as with key stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery. Empowers and supports staff to actively improve themselves and the specialist area of the service within their scope of practice and responsibility. Provides assurance that all health professionals within weight management services have appropriate professional supervision arrangements in place. Evaluates and assesses the weight management service, making operational decisions on service delivery and improvement including to coordination of staff and dealing with staffing issues. Undertake the operational planning role for the weight management service, including business and staffing planning. Establish supervision and quality assurance framework to provide clinical staff with support and to ensure that the delivery of adult weight management services meets the needs of the client groups. To attend and lead departmental and multi-disciplinary meetings, internal and external meetings as required To audit and bench mark existing good practice with established weight management services, and to identify the optimum model for implementation, and amend work plans to reflect this within the area that you lead. Ensure that statistical data relating to service activity is collated and analysed frequently, reporting and acting upon any exceptions that may affect achievement of performance targets. Undertake data collection, audit and research as required by the trust, commissioners and NHSE. Work autonomously to lead and provide expert advice to community groups and those people working with these clients. Develop, updates local and regional evidence-based policies, standards and guidelines in this area of expertise. To be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of clinical interventions undertaken by the team that you manage/supervise and be aware of and follow organisational and professional guidance and standards where appropriate. Human Resources Responsible for the co-ordination and administration of record keeping and completion of Trust documentation. Responsible for the co-ordination and maintenance of all personnel files, ensuring robust administration systems are in place and that accurate record keeping is maintained. Responsible for organising, conducting and monitoring personal development reviews and appraisals in line with Trust policies and procedures.
