The post is for ST1-2 level in Paediatrics and Neonatology. Prior experience in paediatrics is not essential, as training and skill development will be provided.
Shifts include work on the Children's Ward (including HDU), Neonatal Unit, Postnatal Ward/Delivery Suite, Paediatric Assessment Unit, and reviewing children in the Emergency Department. There is also an opportunity to run outpatient clinics with consultant support.
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may change according to service needs.
Clinical Duties
* Be part of the ST1-2 Team at Great Western Hospital.
* Provide inpatient services for children and infants.
* Participate in professional meetings for patient care.
* Participate in the Junior paediatric rota, including out-of-hours shifts.
* Participate in clinical audits.
* Contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education activities.
* Perform duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
* Engage in patient safety, morbidity, and professional/patient meetings.
* Actively participate in Child Safeguarding activities.

Management and Leadership Responsibilities
All staff are accountable through their Lead Clinician and the Associate Medical Director. Clinical Fellows at ST1-2 level are key team members responsible for implementing service improvements.
* Ensure effective communication and staff involvement across the Directorate, supporting the Divisional Director.
* Collaborate with colleagues in other Directorates.
* Work within the Trust's Clinical Governance and Risk framework, including policy development and adherence to procedures.
