Federation of Emscote Infant and All Saints’ CE Junior Schools Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Required from September 2026 About the Role We are seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our successful and supportive federation. This role will initially be based at Emscote Infant School. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident practitioner to take a leading role in supporting and advancing pupils’ learning. The successful candidate will work in partnership with teachers and senior leaders to plan, deliver and assess learning across the curriculum, including leading whole-class teaching during teacher absence. You will support pupils across the school, including those with additional and complex needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all children are fully included and able to achieve their potential. The role will be permanent, working 23 hours per week, term-time only including INSET days. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements for the right candidate and where this meets the needs of the school. Although this advert is for a position starting in September, we are looking to develop a reserve list for future employment in the federation. The reserve list will last six months. Key Requirements a relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher a good standard of education including English & maths (GCSE/Level 2) excellent communication and interpersonal skills experience of working within a classroom setting and with primary aged pupils excellent behaviour management skills the ability to work on their own initiative, and also work well as part of a team Key responsibilities will include: Implement and undertake work in line with the Higher Level Teaching Assistants Standards To contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of learning activities and support programmes to individual or groups of pupils Delivering and planning lessons for groups of pupils/whole classes Supporting the class teacher(s) within school To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop. Assisting the pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally To use behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment. To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school. As a team we work collaboratively, supporting each other, and as an excellent practitioner, you would lead by example.
