Job Overview: To ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care to patients within the trust and contribute to the development of the Emergency Medicine service. The role involves providing support and leadership to the Emergency Department staff, contributing to service improvement programs such as GIRFT and CIP, and implementing evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide senior clinical services in the Emergency Department and take lead clinical responsibility as rostered.
* Facilitate safe and effective clinical care and act as a clinical/educational supervisor for junior staff and medical students.
* Participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
* Lead service development and ensure active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Develop clinical protocols, guidelines, and care bundles.
Additional Information: The hospital is undergoing significant developments, including building a new hospital by 2030 and implementing a new electronic patient record system from 2026.
