Job Title: Submarine Product Assurance Engineer
Location: Bristol – Hybrid (happy to discuss)
Role Type: Permanent
Our client, an established aerospace & defense manufacturing firm in Bristol, requires an experienced Submarine Product Assurance Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team.
The Product Assurance team supports the successful delivery of Integrated Combat Systems projects, providing independent challenge, expertise, and risk identification.
This role is especially suited for an (ex) Submariner Leading Hand with operational experience.
Please note: We can only consider sole UK Nationals (no dual nationality).
Responsibilities of the Submarine Product Assurance Engineer:
* Collaborate with development teams to identify and implement mitigation plans for technical risks.
* Provide independent technical scrutiny and assess design maturity.
* Ensure systems are designed, built, integrated, and accepted into service at relevant engineering lifecycle stages.
* Engage with internal departments and the MoD to deliver Product Assurance during build and commissioning phases.
* Coordinate with the Build and Integration Team regarding the Combat System and platform build plan.
* Attend and observe installation and final inspection activities, as well as design integration reviews.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Good understanding of submarine systems, design, operation, safety, and certification.
* Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle; ability to work independently and apply best practices.
* Understanding of product development and realization activities.
* Support for achieving Professional Institution membership, supported by a degree or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of submarine design, commissioning, safety, and safety case architecture.
* Specialist knowledge of safety or security related to complex systems.
