Overview
The Training Programme Director in IMT (C & M) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine. The postholder will be responsible for Stage 1 IMT trainees from Year 1 to Year 3. Postholder will also be expected to contribute to the Quality Assurance of medical training for all NHSE ACCS trainees rotating through medical posts. The post holder will lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme. The post holder will be a member of the School Board.

Responsibilities
* Oversee the Specialty’s Regional Training Programme
* Address specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
* Recruitment to training posts and programmes
* Manage postgraduate programme, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management careers support, less than full-time training, inter‑deanery transfer, academic training and other related work‑streams
* Ensure national standards, determined by the Royal College, and guidelines and standards established within IMT are met
Qualifications
* Experienced NHS Consultant with thorough understanding of IMT training across the region
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi‑professional team
