Mechanical Construction Manager Opportunity – Tier 1 M&E Contractor - Southwest London
We are working in partnership with a Tier 1 M&E contractor (£400m+ turnover) to appoint an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for a flagship hospital development in Southwest London.
This is a rare opportunity to join at early preconstruction stage, playing a pivotal role through design development, procurement, coordination and full mechanical delivery through to Practical Completion. The scheme is expected to run for 2–3 years, offering long-term stability on one of the region’s most prestigious healthcare projects.
Our client delivers complex MEP packages across healthcare, commercial, data centre and pharmaceutical sectors both in the UK and internationally. They are recognised for technical excellence, strong project teams and industry-leading staff retention.
The Role
As Mechanical Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the mechanical installation and site delivery of a major healthcare MEP package, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing mechanical subcontractors and direct labour on site
* Coordinating mechanical services (HVAC, public health, medical gases, BMS interfaces, etc.)
* Driving programme, quality and productivity targets
* Chairing coordination and subcontractor meetings
* Working closely with design, commercial and commissioning teams
* Ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations and HTM standards
* Overseeing installation through to testing, commissioning and handover
This role offers genuine involvement from preconstruction through full delivery, not just site-based installation management.
