Job Description
Reed Finance is working with a client based in the Cumbernauld area to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager on a temporary basis. Our client is within the charity sector and although sector experience would be ideal, this is not essential to be considered. The assignment should last for around 6 months with a high chance of being made permanent depending on your performance. This will be an hourly rate and negotiable depending on experience however the permanent equivalent for the position is around £41,000.
The Assistant Finance Manager will fully contribute to the management, development and implementation of a comprehensive effective financial team for the charity and the organisation’s subsidiary trading companies. The role will be exposed to all areas of the finance function in order to assist in maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within the charity.
The main responsibilities the position entails are:
* Supporting the finance manager in the smooth running of the day to day financial operations, ensuring a strong financial control environment and helping to deliver on change projects
* Investigate financial issues and respond to financial enquiries, communicating with third parties, and other departments managers/staff, providing advice and assistance as required.
* Management and delegation of work to the Finance Assistant and Volunteers ensuring duties are carried out to a high standard
* Assisting with cashflow and preparation of cashflow forecast.
* Assisting in preparing annual budget
* Assist in the preparation of management accounts
* Supervision of asset register
* Supervision of purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger
To be considered for the role, you must possess the following:
* Relevant experience that matches the job description
* Open to qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience accountants
* Charity sector experience is ideal but not essential
