About Oxford Royale

Oxford Royale is a leading global provider of elite summer schools. Driven by a firm belief that education is about much more than a formal classroom, we offer young people unparalleled cultural and learning experiences, giving them a window to a world of opportunity.

Teaching is at the core of Oxford Royale’s Law Summer School programme. We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to introduce students to foundational legal concepts, including constitutional law, criminal law, and international legal systems. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about contemporary legal challenges and guide them through case studies, mock trials, and debates. Lessons should encourage active participation and the application of legal theory to real-world contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and adapt lessons using the Teacher’s Guide, ensuring the content is suited to students' interests and academic levels.
* Deliver engaging lessons covering key areas of law, including legal history, current legal issues, and the role of law in society.
* Use subject expertise to promote student progress, providing personalized feedback and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
* Lead interactive activities such as debates, mock trials, and case study analysis to apply legal theory to practice.
* Mark assignments, provide detailed feedback, and complete student reports reflecting individual progress.
* Handle administrative tasks including maintaining registers and attending staff meetings.
* Collaborate with fellow teaching staff to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Person Specification:

* Extensive knowledge and experience in law or a related field, with an awareness of current legal trends and issues.
* Passion for inspiring students and fostering their interest in legal studies and societal issues.
* Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles.
* Creative and confident teaching approach, encouraging critical thinking and debate.
* Fluency in English and strong organizational skills.

Position Details:

* Programmes are two weeks in length, with options for 2, 4, or 6-week contracts available between July and mid-August 2025.
* Teaching takes place Monday to Friday, with lessons scheduled from 09:00 to 16:00, although shorter hours may be available in some locations.
* Compulsory online and in-person training will be required before starting the role.
* While key teaching materials are provided, teachers are expected to adapt lesson plans to suit student interests and contribute their own expertise to the course.

Essential Qualifications:

* Undergraduate degree (or higher) in Law or a closely related field.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

* Experience teaching law or related subjects to students aged 13-18.
* PGCE or Master’s degree in Law or a related field.
* Professional experience in the legal field or related sectors.

At Oxford Royale, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all. We believe in building a community that reflects the diversity of the students we serve and are dedicated to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Our goal is to cultivate a workplace where everyone feels valued and can contribute fully, regardless of background, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, or perspective.
