Remeo wish to innovate every area of our respiratory service for the benefit of our patients and customers.

We'd like you to join us as a Matron at our service Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre in Redhill, Surrey.

The Lane Fox Remeo Centre specialises in long-term respiratory support, both non-invasive ventilation and invasive ventilation, and in weaning' patients from invasive mechanical ventilation.


*** This is a Nurse qualified role ***

What you'll be working:

37.5 Hours ( this will include rota'd on call )

Monday - Friday

09.00 - 17.00

What you'll be doing:

Through strong clinical leadership, the Matron will support Remeo Healthcare to promote excellence in nursing care, maintaining and improving clinical standards. The post holder will ensure that all patients are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, valuing the diversity of the local community and beyond. They will advocate for best practices in infection prevention by ensuring a clean and safe environment. The Matron's key responsibility is to ensure that patient care is clinically effective, safe, and delivered to the highest standard. The Hospital Director holds overarching responsibility for the operational management and strategic direction of nursing services.

Performance Management:

* Manage the delivery of all nursing aspects of the agreed outputs for their area of responsibility, as set out in their performance contract by:
* Holding Deputy Centre Managers accountable for delivering their objectives in the clinical area.
* Ensuring effective action is taken where nursing performance risks falling below expected levels and standards are not maintained.
* Implementing Remeo Healthcare Nursing priorities.

Risk & Clinical Governance:

* Ensure patients are cared for in a clean and safe environment, taking remedial action if standards are not maintained.
* Champion the infection prevention and control agenda, challenging poor practice.
* Manage and respond to complaints and adverse incidents.
* Participate in the PSIRF process and develop action plans, ensuring these lead to changes in practice.
* Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and staff to resolve potentially complex situations, conflicts, and issues.
* Lead the implementation of patient safety strategies.
* Share best practices and drive improvements in patient care.
* In conjunction with the Hospital Director, monitor and maintain excellent clinical standards within the clinical team.

Professional Leadership and Staff Management:

* Be a visible leader, accessible to patients, carers, and staff.
* Provide professional and clinical leadership.
* Develop the specialist contribution nursing can make in designated areas.
* Develop Deputy Nurse leadership and management.
* Ensure nursing staff comply with Remeo policies and procedures.
* Represent the company at local and national forums, promoting achievements in patient care.

Departmental & Staff Organisation:

* Collaborate with clinical teams daily.
* Monitor and action decisions in relation to clinical areas, ensuring an appropriate nursing skill mix in relation to activity and acuity.
* Manage and report any risk issues to the Hospital Director.
* Skill mix and deployment of staff within the area of responsibility.
* Ensure nurse rostering meets service demands, is cost-effective, and adheres to Remeo guidelines.
* Review and agree on bank and agency requirements and usage, controlling bank and agency spend.
* Performance manage staff with direct responsibility for continuous performance review/appraisal.
* Manage staff absence and report trends in sickness absence to the Hospital Director.
* Oversee the process of continuous performance review within the allocated area of responsibility.
* Empower and enable staff to perform their roles effectively.

Strategy and Service Improvement:

* Collaborate with the Senior Management Team in developing the service and business strategy.
* Participate in service improvement projects or development programmes that contribute to the modernisation of patient services, providing both professional and clinical advice as necessary.
* Work closely with appropriate Clinical and Service Managers to ensure all local, corporate, and national initiatives and targets are met.
* Represent Remeo within the NHS community and partner organisations and work closely with them to institute integrated working in the best interest of patient care.
* Ensure appropriate public and patient involvement in assessing service quality and improvements. Identify and advance the specific contributions nursing can make to the development of the service.


What you'll have:

* RN1: Registered Adult Nurse, Level 1, part of the NMC register.
* A legal right to work in the U.K.
* Proven track record of operational service management at a senior level in an acute hospital environment, including staff management, financial management, and change management.
* Evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience to master's level 7.
* A master's level 7 qualification in nursing or a postgraduate qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Significant clinical experience in tracheostomy, ventilatory care, respiratory care, and neurorehabilitation.
* Experience in palliative care.

* Monitoring performance and providing feedback.
* Proven ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical, workable solutions.

* Strong sense of personal and team accountability, with a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority.
* Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create conditions for successful partnership working.
* Good understanding of the changing healthcare/NHS environment.
* Well-developed leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to enthuse, motivate, and involve individuals and teams, aligning them with the Trust's and your performance expectations.
* Intellectual flexibility to look beyond existing structures, ways of working, boundaries, and organisations to produce more effective and innovative service delivery and partnerships.
* Sound political judgment and astuteness in understanding and working with complex policy, and diverse interest groups, and common sense in knowing when to brief up the line'.
* Commitment to improving patient services through a sustained focus on achieving demanding goals.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good listening skills.
* High level of work organisation, self-motivation, drive for performance and improvement, and flexibility in approach and attitude.
* Strong sense of commitment to openness, honesty, and integrity in undertaking the role.

Remeo Healthcare Ltd, as part of Active Care Group, will operate the Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre in conjunction with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, together with delivering community care for people requiring specialised respiratory support in the UK.

Remeo as a service will also continue to operate internationally, outside of the Active Care Group.
