Role Overview:
A leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering a major data centre project in North Tawton is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support the safe delivery of this high-value, fast-paced scheme. This role will play a key part in driving compliance, improving safety performance, and supporting operational teams on site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy on a large-scale data centre project
* Provide day-to-day H&S advice and guidance to site teams and subcontractors
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks
* Review and approve RAMS to ensure safe systems of work
* Assist in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
* Promote a strong behavioural safety culture across site
* Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
* Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and safety training sessions
* Maintain accurate H&S records and reporting documentation
* Liaise with client representatives and external stakeholders on H&S matters
Required Experience & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or Senior Advisor within construction
* Experience working on large-scale projects (data centre or mission-critical experience highly desirable)
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
* IOSH membership (minimum TechIOSH, working towards GradIOSH/CMIOSH preferred)
* Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to influence site teams and subcontractors effectively
* Data centre or mission-critical project experience
* NEBOSH Diploma or working towards
* ISO 45001 knowledge or audit experience
* M&E or complex build experience

Package:
* Basic salary £60,000–£65,000 (DOE)
