About the Role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Site Engineer to undertake site engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress. Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities, creating communities where people want to live, work and play. We provide high quality asset strategy, management and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers, offering specialist, reliable, sustainable, and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. We put our customers first and prioritise completing schemes safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
* Support the delivery of CSUK’s sustainability activities
* Production of Task Briefing Sheets
* Contribution to production of Permit to Dig, including briefing to the workforce
* Carries out safety inspections
* Setting out from primary control provided by others
* The provision of sketches detailing the setting out information installed
* Read and determine information from drawings, schedules and specification
Qualifications & Skills
* Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
* Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
* Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours or nights
* Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
* Understands Permit to Dig system
* Environmental awareness
* Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
* Demonstrable prior experience in highways is required
