Finance Director, York, North Yorkshire (Hybrid), £110,000-£130,000 (depending on experience) + Car + Pension + Bonus

An exciting, well-established, multi-site, privately backed business is looking for an outstanding Finance Director to join its senior leadership team. This is a pivotal, high-impact role where you’ll take full ownership of the finance function, act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director and shareholders, and play a central part in shaping the company’s future growth. The Role
As Finance Director, you will be responsible for the effective stewardship of the company’s finances, ensuring strong controls, insightful reporting, and forward-looking financial leadership. You’ll lead a full-service finance function and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver robust plans, support strategic initiatives, and continuously strengthen business performance.
Key areas of focus include:
* Leading the budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process
* Delivering timely, accurate management accounts and statutory reporting
* Owning treasury, cash flow and working capital management
* Overseeing audit, tax compliance and relationships with external advisers
* Supporting due diligence and negotiations on M&A activity
* Driving high-quality decision support for the leadership team
* Developing finance systems, processes and people capability
* Managing relationships with investors, banks and group stakeholders.
About You
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA or equivalent) with a strong track record in senior finance leadership roles, ideally within multi-site and private-equity-backed environments. You’re commercially astute, confident operating at board level, and equally comfortable being hands-on when needed. You enjoy building capable teams, improving processes, and partnering with operational leaders to drive performance.
