Together with our client we are looking for an Electrical Engineer based on a static site in central Cambridge (Parking available) Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, emergency light testing etc Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations. Install, modify, and commission new electrical systems and wiring in line with current regulations. Carry out electrical inspection, testing, and certification in compliance with statutory and company requirements. Maintain up-to-date records of all work carried out, including maintenance logs, test certificates, and compliance documentation. Ensure all electrical work complies with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and Health & Safety standards. Support site projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance and engineering team to identify and implement reliability improvements. Participate in on-call duties and emergency breakdown cover as required. Skills & Experience Required Time-served and fully qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation/Maintenance. City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Inspection & Testing qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) preferred. Proven experience in electrical maintenance within industrial, commercial, or facilities environments. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
