About the role
We’re looking for a confident, commercially minded SEO Account Manager to act as the bridge between our clients and our in-house SEO specialists.
You’ll manage day-to-day client relationships, ensuring that briefs, priorities and performance updates flow smoothly between clients and the SEO delivery team. We use Basecamp to keep us all in line.
You won’t need to be hands-on with technical SEO or content production. Your focus will be on coordination, communication and campaign impact.
This is a great role for someone who understands SEO principles, enjoys client interaction and wants to shape strategic programmes without getting buried in day-to-day optimisation.
Key responsibilities
Client relationship management
* Be the primary contact for a portfolio of retained SEO clients, ensuring clear communication and high satisfaction.
* Translate client objectives into actionable briefs for the SEO delivery team.
* Lead regular update calls, reporting sessions and quarterly reviews.
* Track deliverables, timelines and results against scope and budget.
* Identify growth opportunities and feed into account development plans.
Campaign coordination
* Collaborate with SEO specialists (technical, content, digital PR) to prioritise work that drives measurable outcomes.
* Manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client KPIs.
* Review and quality-check outputs before client delivery to ensure clarity and strategic consistency.
* Support content or creative teams in aligning SEO insights with wider campaign activity.
Performance & insight
* Review monthly dashboards and performance data with the SEO team; extract key insights and narrative for client reporting.
* Present data back to clients clearly - focusing on business impact, not just metrics.
* Work with clients and the internal team to translate results into next-step recommendations.
Internal collaboration
* Partner closely with the SEO team lead to plan quarterly priorities and resource requirements.
* Ensure that briefs, feedback and deadlines are clear and documented.
* Contribute to process improvement across client service and SEO operations.
About you
* Around 3-4 years’ experience in digital marketing or account management, within an agency environment.
* Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and how technical, content and authority work together.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Able to manage multiple clients with calm efficiency.
* Comfortable interpreting SEO performance data (GA4, GSC, Looker Studio) and extracting meaning.
* Commercially aware, organised and naturally proactive.
