About The Role
Reports to the Technical Manager and has full responsibility for the QA Department
Through the continual management, development and auditing of the Quality Management System ensure that the appropriate process control systems and procedures exist to deliver consistent and effective control of all products.
To deliver a Continuous Quality & Food Safety Improvement program through the development and implementation of improvement techniques on site.
1. Team management experience within chilled food manufacturing
2. Degree, or equivalent, in Food Science or similar is desirable
3. HACCP trained
4. Internal audit trained
5. Retailer-facing experience
6. Strong management skills
7. Quality assurance: 2 years (preferred)

Responsibilities & Requirements
To work closely with the Bakery Management team to ensure all Food Safety, Quality and Legal requirements are controlled and met.
Duties:
11. Responsible for ensuring product safety and quality is maintained throughout the process chain
12. Ensuring adequate monitoring systems are in place focussed on food safety, process control, good manufacturing practice and food handling
13. Complaint handling, trending and reduction plans.
14. To be key part of site HACCP team ensuring legal, customer and third party compliance
15. Liaise with Customers and Suppliers regarding day-to-day queries and issues surrounding quality and technical management
16. Carry out appraisals for the quality team
17. To assist the Technical Manager in developing the quality management systems and processes in line with legal, customer, company and other best practice requirements, which create, maintain and improve the integrity and food safety and quality of all products manufactured
18. To develop and maintain strong leadership across the Quality function, ensuring at all times that a well-structured and motivated team is in place.
19. Deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence
