I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation and a stable client base. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance international team. The organization boasts a collaborative culture and excellent growth prospects.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western European markets. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales track record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and executing business strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a sales pipeline and generate RFPs from qualified potential clients
* Utilizing Salesforce to track client interactions and update opportunities
* Managing the sales process from lead generation to closing
* Leading proposal development to align with client expectations
* Identifying profitable market niches based on evidence
* Collaborating with Marketing to create supportive strategies
* Providing input on sales targets and strategies based on industry knowledge
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Maximizing opportunities through internal research staff
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate new business
