Must be available to cover the South / South East of England
About IVC
IVC has grown to become the UK’s largest veterinary group. Our culture of supporting local leadership and clinical freedom requires us to provide multi-faceted central support which allows our operational colleagues to focus on the care of patients.
With an estate stretching from the Highlands of Scotland to the Cornish coast and everywhere in between, the Property Project Team at IVC are required to have expert knowledge to support our operational teams and nationwide coverage to ensure that we are able to support the full estate.
About the role
Help shape the future of veterinary care by leading construction projects that matter.
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our UK Property team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective construction projects across the South and South East. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of a purpose-driven organisation, improving the environments where our teams work and where pets receive care.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and deliver construction and refurbishment projects from feasibility to launch, aligned to one of our Regional Directors.
Line manage and mentor two Project Managers, supporting their development and acting as the first point of escalation across three regions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (IT, Finance, Marketing, FM) and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, lease, legal, and H&S obligations, including CDM, BSA, and Building Control regulations.
Optimise performance by reviewing supplier interactions, monitoring capital spend, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support strategic alignment by working closely with the UK Property Programme Manager and your Senior PM counterpart to ensure consistency across the national estate.
What you’ll bring
7–10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
A background in property, surveying, or construction, ideally with experience in healthcare or veterinary environments.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site projects under pressure.
Strong commercial acumen — able to review supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and manage capital budgets.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
A structured, analytical mindset with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and risk mitigation plans.
Be part of a mission-led organisation committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care.
Work in a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Enjoy the autonomy and trust to lead impactful projects that directly support our growth.
Help shape a market-leading veterinary estate that benefits pets, clients, and clinical teams alike.
