The Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team is looking for a Registered Mental Health Clinicians to join our team which provides a responsive assessment and home treatment service to those experiencing an acute mental health crisis in the community.

As a Home Based Treatment Clinician you will be expected to work collaboratively with Service Users, Carers and other professionals, offering interventions as an alternative to hospital admission as the primary element of your role.

Main duties of the job

Providing a telephone triage & support service to service users and carers who self refer via the All Age Crisis Line and supporting service users who are awaiting Mental Health Act Assessment in the Health Based Place of Safety.

To work as a member of the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team, providing intensive home treatment to patients and support for their families in accordance with Trust and Crisis Teams Policies and Procedures.

To manage a defined caseload of clients experiencing an acute mental health episode, using evidence based, client centered, hope and recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

1. Relevant professional qualification required and appropriate current professional registration
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
3. Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

4. Post-graduate qualification ina relevant area
5. MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale.

Experience

Essential

6. Working with people with mental ill-health
7. Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
8. Working in a community setting
9. Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
10. Working in a multi-disciplinary team
11. Working in partnership with other agencies

Knowledge

Essential

12. Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
13. Understanding of relevant legislation (. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
14. Care Programme Approach and its application inpractice
15. Understanding of Safeguarding and its applicationin practice
16. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
17. Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision
18. Awareness of psychological models of careand treatment
