About the Role

We are recruiting Tissue Production Operators to join our Chesterfield team, where you will play a vital role in producing high-quality tissue products used by millions every day. If you are safety-conscious, mechanically minded, and enjoy working as part of a team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
you will be working a four-on/four-off shift pattern for 12 hours (two days and two nights).
Job Opportunity
As a Production Operator at Northwood, you will be responsible for providing the mill with operative support in order to meet site standards to maintain product consistency, equipment reliability, operational efficiency and maximise factory output.
Your focus will be on operating the facility in execution of all operational tasks on a day to day basis. This includes logistics, material handing, small maintenance tasks and operating specific equipment to the required standards.
Responsibilities include
* Controlling the machine maintaining efficiencies and quality
* Carry out quality inspections and QA tests
* troubleshoot day to day issues
* Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures and regulations at all times.
* Identify, report, and help resolve any faults or issues with machinery.
* Maintain housekeeping standards across the production area and the machines.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and share ideas for cost savings or process enhancements.
* operation of FLT, clamp truck and skid steer and cherry picker.

The role will require working in an environment that can be warm and wet, particularly during summer months. Full personal protective equipment and comprehensive training will be provided.
Essential Skills
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within FMCG or tissue/paper production.
* Technical and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to set up and operate machinery efficiently.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to working to high quality and safety standards.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities.
* Excellent attendance, timekeeping, and organisational skills.
* able to operate a forklift truck

Desirable Criteria:
* previous experience of driving a FLT
* Previous experience in an FMCG environment.
* 5 GCSE's of Grade C and above (or equivalent)
