We are looking for Passenger Assistant's to work on behalf of the Local Authority in Wigan. Responsibilities * Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of SEND pupils during the journey. * Secure seatbelts, harnesses, and specialist equipment correctly. * Act as a link between parents, school, and management team for any issues. * Manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally. * Follow emergency procedures (e.g., medical incidents, breakdowns). Requirements * Must hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance for working with children and vulnerable adults. (IMH can process if you don't currently hold one). * Ability to speak fluent English clearly so young children can understand without difficulty. * Agency working must live in Wigan Borough or be able to travel to a meeting point in Wigan Borough. * Must be able to complete a split shift – e.g. 7:30–09:30 AM and 14:30–16:45 PM. * Previous experience of working with SEND children in any role is desirable. * Understanding of child protection and safeguarding protocols, including reporting concerns and maintaining professional boundaries. * Epilepsy awareness. * Experience of autism and communication strategies. Hours & Pay * Must be able to complete a split shift – e.g. 7:30–09:30 AM and 14:30–16:45 PM. * Stating PAYE: £13.13 P/H * Weekly pay whilst through agency * Monday to Friday Job Type: Part-time Experience: * Epilepsy awareness: 3 years (preferred) * SEND: 3 years (preferred) Language: * Fluent English (preferred)
