This role is based in the SAP Product Team, within the Corporate Systems department, which sits in the Technology Group division. In this team there are 3 primary disciplines; project management, product management & business analysis. This team delivers technology projects, continuous improvement & technical support for a variety of systems & applications that are used by employees across the BBC group.

The role of the Senior Project Manager is to deliver SAP technology projects that will enable product & process improvement across the BBC Group


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

* Manage the project or workstream to deliver the agreed output, outcomes and benefits within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality constraints
* Apply oversight and evaluate, monitor and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and change requests, escalating those outside tolerance if appropriate.
* Effectively manage people (including third parties) and other resources.
* Maintain suitable project plans, and manage day-to-day progress against a detailed plan.
* Monitor project progress, regularly report on status and initiate corrective actions.
* Produce and manage day-to-day progress against a detailed plan and produce a high-level roadmap which extracts key milestones and dependencies to share with stakeholders.
* Ensure all project expenditure (or activity) is tracked and reconciled to budget/plan with forecast to complete or value returned to inform decision making.
* Ensure adherence to relevant BBC policies and standards. Including project management, health and safety, financial, legal, procurement and other compliance requirements.


Are you the right candidate?

To be succesful in the role, you will have:

* Experience of delivering at least one SAP complex technology project (e.g. multiple workstreams, third-party/supplier management, budget of >£500k)

Experience of managing procurement and/or commercial processes as part of the end-to-end project lifecycle

Excellent planning, organisation & communication skills

Experience of using different delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Hybrid, Agile) & an understanding of their respective benefits/risks

Ability to work at pace & remain resilient when faced with conflicting priorities or demands

Experience of delivering technology projects in a fast-changing, political and complicated environment

Proficient user of Microsoft Tools - e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint etc

Experience of delivering technology projects at other public sector organisations and/or other media organisations

Experience of delivering technology projects that have implemented SAP products

Understands organisational transformation challenges and how to operate effectively in this context
