Credit Manager – Property Development Finance
The Company:

Role Purpose:
As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the credit quality of new loans using the company’s credit models and policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risks. Extensive knowledge and experience in development finance are required.
Role Responsibilities:
* Adhere to sanction limits according to the company's sanctioning matrix.
* Assist in developing and recommending loan policies and practices, establishing controls and procedures for approval.
* Ensure all credit reports comply with company policies.
* Report exceptions and provide recommendations to the Head of Credit.
* Advise on concentration risks and suggest mitigants.
* Identify and recommend improvements for policies and procedures.
* Stay informed on current rates, activities, and regulatory issues, incorporating them into decision-making.
* Maintain risk controls daily.
* Conduct pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors.
* Participate in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum meetings.
* Respond to pricing requests within SLAs.
* Review and respond to sighting papers and credit reports with reasons for approval or decline.
* Address lender questions via the website Q&A.
* Coordinate with the deal team to ensure timely loan processing.
* Verify loan agreements for compliance before release.
* Ensure all conditions precedents are met before drawdown.
* Attend relevant departmental meetings to promote credit knowledge.
* Monitor development loans post-deal, including drawdowns and updates.
* Provide redemption figures and loan statements.
* Attend client meetings as appropriate.
* Train and support new relationship staff.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Extensive property development funding credit experience.
* Ability to make informed decisions on new deals.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of the wider business context.
* Strong decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Awareness of how credit issues impact the broader business.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Organizational skills and workflow responsibility.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* GCSE level education or equivalent.
* Experience in an FCA-regulated environment.
* Experience in similar financial services roles.
* Knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.
