Overview We’re hiring a
Principal Nuclear Waste Consultant
to join a leading organisation in the nuclear sector. This is a key role supporting nuclear decommissioning and strategic waste management. The role will be a permanent staff position, based from either Warrington, Bristol or Newbury, with flexible hybrid working options available.
The Role As a
Principal Nuclear Waste Consultant, you’ll lead high-impact technical projects that contribute to the UK’s nuclear future. You’ll manage teams, guide technical delivery, and engage with stakeholders to provide safe, innovative, and high-quality waste management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist advice and lead delivery across nuclear waste and decommissioning projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders
Support strategic bids and contribute to business development
Supervise and mentor technical staff, with line management responsibilities
Ensure compliance with environmental permitting, regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations
Qualifications / Requirements
Significant experience in nuclear waste management and strategic delivery
Strong background in leading technical teams and mentoring staff
Proven success in delivering decommissioning, disposability, or integrated waste strategy projects
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline
Candidates must be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance
