Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Flexible, could be any of the Police Investigation Centres (Southampton/Basingstoke/Portsmouth) or Newport Police Station
Salary: Scale 6, £33,603 - £35,772 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week - Consideration will be given to reduced hours
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as a Finance Officer within Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, working to provide a safer community for all.
More about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to line manage the Area Finance Team (including the Travel Desk) and ensure their work assists with the smooth running of the Constabulary and OPCC’s operational requirements.
About the Role
Key responsibilities of the role, but not limited to:
You will be responsible for ensuring that all members of the team follow the prescribed procedures to process order requests. Apply and maintain controls necessary to ensure accurate and timely work according to the agreed service standards.
Ensuring that purchases are made in line with policies and educating on these where necessary and maintaining a positive working relationship with customers and colleagues.
Monitor the contract for collection of cash from Police premises and ensure that issues are raised and escalated where necessary.
Maintain an awareness of corporate and departmental equalities and health and safety policies and procedures and apply them in the day to day job requirements.

Essential Qualifications
Qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (or accepted relevant equivalent qualification). Or part qualified with extensive relevant experience demonstrating the required level of knowledge and application of financial principles.
