MIG Welder / Fabricator — North Shields
Salary: £32,390 per annum (£15.57 per hour)
Hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Marshalls Landscape Protection provides protective street furniture designed to promote the safety of shared urban spaces. Part of the Marshalls Group, Landscape Protection offers a range of bollards, planters, seating, and other products, available as crash-tested or non-crash-tested, to develop urban areas with safety and aesthetic appeal. We are recruiting for a MIG Welder to join the busy manufacturing department at our North Shields site.
Mission: In this role, you will support the production of our extensive range of protective street furniture and counter-terrorism products. If you are an enthusiastic team player with a willingness to succeed and develop new skills, we want to hear from you.
You will have experience MIG welding Mild Steel from 2mm up to 20mm thick and will be able to dress welds to a high standard. Previous experience in basic fabrication is beneficial.
There will be opportunities to work in other areas of the North Shields site to cover holidays and absences.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out MIG welding on mild steel (2mm to 20mm)
* Dressing welds to a high standard
* Carrying out basic fabrication tasks as needed
* Supporting production of protective street furniture and counter-terrorism products
* Covering other areas of the site when required
What are the mission-critical skills?
* Experience in MIG welding
* Experience in general fabrication
* Experience in a factory role or similar
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Ability to read and interpret drawings
