Consultant – Paediatric Gastroenterology
West London Children’s Healthcare are seeking a full‑time Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist to join the dynamic Paediatric Gastroenterology team at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
The successful applicant will provide excellent care to our local children and families across the tertiary Paediatric Gastroenterology service and be based primarily at the Chelsea and Westminster site. This 10PA post comprises attending weeks (presently 1:4) with the remainder of time focused on elective work, and the appointee will receive mentoring and support from the team of Paediatric Gastroenterology Consultants.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent care to children and families across the tertiary Paediatric Gastroenterology service.
* Attend clinical weeks, currently structured as 1:4, with the remainder of time devoted to elective work.
* Receive mentoring and support from the Paediatric Gastroenterology Consultants.
* Participate in multidisciplinary assessment, management, and coordination with the Nutrition Team and other specialties.
* Contribute to shared care clinics across associated hospitals (Northwick Park, St Marks, West Middlesex, Ealing, St Mary’s, Hillingdon).
* Attend endoscopy lists (three per week) in dedicated Paediatric Theatres adjacent to inpatient beds.
* Perform motility investigations including oesophageal pH, impedance monitoring, and ano‑rectal manometry.
* Provide management of children requiring parenteral and enteral nutritional support.
Qualifications
* Consultant level experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology.
* Experience in attending clinical weeks and elective practice within a tertiary service.
* Familiarity with multidisciplinary care and nutrition support in paediatric patients.
* Ability to work within shared care clinics and collaborate across hospitals.
