Working as part of a small finance team in a manufacturing business based in Wakefield (West Wakefield), as an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance Controller (FC) and assist in the smooth running of the finance team. Your responsibilities will include various transactional duties and assisting in the production of monthly management accounts.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Processing invoices on Purchase and Sales Ledger (1-2 hours per day)
2. Managing inventory sheets
3. Reconciling customer statements
4. Updating cash management sheets
5. Reconciling sheets for sales and P&L
6. Monitoring production data
7. Posting payments and accruals
8. Preparing bank statements
9. Handling invoicing queries
10. Producing monthly reports as requested
11. Assisting with ad hoc requirements from the Finance Controller
Skills and experience required:
* Previous or current experience as a Finance or Accounts Assistant
* Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
* Experience in a finance function within a busy environment is advantageous
* Motivated and focused, with experience in a fast-paced role
* Positive attitude, eager to learn, develop, and progress
