Bristol Sanctuary Services is a diverse team working with Refugees, asylum seekers and people with No recourse to Public Funds. This position is for a fluent bilingual Arabic/English speaker to offer language support to clients and share cultural knowledge of the Arabic diaspora with the Sanctuary Services team.
You will work with families with a range of nationalities on Home Office Resettlement programmes who have indefinite leave to remain from arrival. The team are looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker who will manage a caseload which will involve lone working and travel within the city.
The worker will support newly arrived families to resettle into Bristol which involves supporting the family to manage their tenancy, claim welfare benefits, access health services and access local services. The worker will agree a support plan with the family to create pathways to employment, education and private rented sector accommodation as needed.
You will need experience of working with a vulnerable community such as homeless people or refugees, you will need an in depth knowledge of how racism impacts communities, welfare benefits and trauma informed practice. The position is open to hybrid working but requires at least three days a week face to face working in Bristol.
