Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Secure Care Division, within a well established multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) providing support to service users. This role is a key member of the team, responsible for delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions using person‑centred approaches to support service users' functional skills, independence and recovery across a range of settings. The post holder will also provide supervision and guidance to junior staff, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and play an active role in leadership activities.
Main Duties
The post holder will manage a defined caseload, working autonomously within the MDT to deliver high‑quality occupational therapy. Duties include comprehensive assessments of occupational performance and functional ability, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group interventions to support self‑care, productivity and leisure. The role also involves coordinating care, contributing to case reviews, working in partnership with families and carers, managing referrals, maintaining accurate clinical records, and supporting integrated care pathways. Additional responsibilities include providing professional support and supervision to junior staff, participating in audits and service improvement initiatives, and deputising for senior colleagues where required.

Essential Qualifications
* Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Occupational Therapy Diploma / Degree (BSc/MSc)
* Enhanced DBS Disclosure

Essential Experience
* Experience of relevant Occupational Therapy functional assessment
* Experience of successful team working
* Experience of liaison with internal and external services and agencies
Desirable Experience
* Experience of service development audit and research practice relevant to the clinical area
* Experience of planning and facilitating therapeutic groups for patients / clients

* Experience of being involved in clinical audit and/or research
Essential Knowledge
* Knowledge and ability to express an understanding of the Occupational Therapy process including formulation of intervention plans grounded in clinical reasoning
* General knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
* Understanding of clinical and environmental risk assessment
* Evidence of CPD/Short courses
Desirable Knowledge
* Familiar with Electronic Patient Records
