Join Our Specialist Dementia Care Team as a Care Assistant at Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, a part of Ashlea Court Care Home. This role supports up to 26 residents in a warm, structured and homely environment dedicated to high‑quality person‑centred care for people living with dementia.

What You’ll Do
* Support residents living with dementia, promoting dignity, comfort and quality of life.
* Use positive engagement and communication techniques to support emotional wellbeing.
* Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
* Observe and report any changes in physical or emotional health to the nursing team.
* Work with colleagues to create a structured, dementia‑friendly environment.
* Support residents to engage in activities that spark joy, connection and independence.
Who We’re Looking For
* Compassionate approach – genuinely caring about older people.
* Experience – previous care home or hospital experience is welcome, especially supporting dementia, but not essential.
* Qualifications – SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care preferred, or willingness to work towards it.
* Team player – collaborative with nurses, families and fellow carers.
* Willingness to learn – positive attitude toward training and development in dementia care.
Training & Development
Comprehensive dementia care development programme, ongoing mentorship and opportunities to progress into senior roles such as Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader.
