We are recruiting for a SHE Coordinator to join our team at the Cattybrook factory in Almondsbury, Bristol BS32 4BX.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with all business stakeholders to deliver the Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Strategy and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
* Record incidents and non-compliances on the SHE management system; conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence; ensure short-term containment and long-term solutions.
* Act as the primary contact for site-specific SHE matters when required.
* Assist the site in developing risk assessments, SSOPs, and other relevant procedures.
* Manage the site’s tier boards with up-to-date, accurate information.
* Deliver communication and training through toolbox talks, meetings, best practice sharing and safety alerts.
* Maintain SHE records in line with Ibstock PLC requirements.
* Analyze data, use problem-solving tools, and formulate action plans to reduce injury and illness risks.
* Identify best practices and cascade information across the group with SHE advisors.
* Provide accurate, timely technical advice to resolve H&S issues and reduce environmental impact.
* Support factory management in formulating site-specific SHE action plans and monitor progress to ensure delivery.
* Measure and report improvements to the Safety, Health & Environment Management Systems.
* Review site procedures and assessments in line with group SHE requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement of site H&S performance with KPI monitoring.
* Implement new initiatives from the group H&S department as per the H&S roadmap.
* Facilitate on-site H&S committees with effective roll-out of minutes and action plans.
* Arrange occupational health monitoring (noise, air contamination, HAV) per procedures.
* Influence safe employee behaviours through audits, inspections, health and safety surveys and behavioural observation.
* Ensure compliance with environmental permits or licenses as issued by enforcing authorities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH General Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months)
* IEMA Foundation course in Environmental Management (Desirable)
* Membership of IOSH (Desirable)
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver training
* Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
* Numerate and literate
* Collaborative and able to influence a wide cross-section of people to adopt safer ways of working
* Flexible – able to work independently or as part of a team
