You will be responsible for managing the patient pathway, ensuring the provision of a systematic, efficient, and confident service. You will support the Service Manager and Directorate Senior Management Team (Clinical Lead, Matron, and Directorate Manager) in the operational management of your respective service(s) to deliver high-quality patient care. Additionally, you will provide support and expert knowledge to the team of patient pathway coordinators and administrative staff.
Delegated responsibilities include a range of operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and your specialist knowledge of the service to make decisions. You will assist with the daily operational business of the designated service area and contribute to strategic planning and development. You will oversee administrative and clerical processes to ensure a high-quality, patient-focused service, and ensure standard operating procedures are followed to meet performance targets.
In the absence of the Patient Pathway Manager, the Deputy will provide regular updates on performance and escalate issues affecting the patient pathway to the Directorate Manager.
We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organized individual to support the Cardiology, Respiratory, and Stroke teams. The role requires building relationships within an admin team in a fast-paced environment, with excellent IT skills, and confidence in communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels. The candidate should be capable of working quickly and accurately under pressure and identifying service improvements to reduce delays and enhance patient experience.
Qualifications:
1. Educated to A-level or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience
2. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C
Desirable qualifications include a degree or equivalent, management or business qualification, supervisory experience, data quality management, and knowledge of CAT patient pathways. Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems, advanced use of EPR, and system interrogation skills are also desirable.
