Outstation Manager - 18 Month FTC
TXM Recruit is supporting a business on the south coast seeking an Outstation Manager. This depot-based role involves planning and managing all production-related activities, including fleet campaigns, modifications, and improvements to rolling stock assets, ensuring performance targets are met.
Duties
1. Support excellent health & safety, quality, and environmental practices in the workplace.
2. Ensure the team delivers contractual requirements for train modifications to the correct standards and schedule.
3. Maintain adherence to all relevant rail industry standards.
4. Meet all contractual KPIs for operations.
5. Ensure compliance on site.
6. Organize resources and prioritize activities for planned and unplanned traction and rolling stock engineering tasks.
7. Oversee the safe movement of rolling stock.
8. Recruit, train, and develop team members.
9. Control costs through resource planning.
10. Conduct in-process and post-modification quality checks to improve activities.
11. Manage disciplinary issues within the team.
12. Perform assessments in line with the depot competence management system.
13. Control traction and rolling stock assets responsibly.
14. Manage resources and prioritize workload for reliability and casualty repairs.
15. Support fleet reliability improvements using root cause analysis tools.
16. Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the depot.
17. Develop best practices for defect and maintenance procedures.
18. Identify and implement process improvements.
19. Conduct investigations as per company policies.
20. Assist the Programme Manager with site activities.
21. Maintain professional liaison with customers regarding fleet and contractual requirements.
22. Manage and influence peers and leaders to secure necessary resources and support.
23. Understand health and safety responsibilities.
24. Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
25. Make effective decisions under pressure.
26. Work efficiently to deadlines.
27. Work flexibly as needed.
28. Commit to teamwork.
Qualifications
• M&E HNC or served engineering apprenticeship.
