Advanced Assistant Technical Officer – Pharmacy Technical Services (Maternity Leave Cover)
The successful candidate will work within our Aseptic and Chemotherapy unit and will be required to set up and prepare medicines made within Pharmacy Technical Services. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
* Set up and prepare medicines within the Aseptic and Chemotherapy unit.
* Undertake relevant training, both external and internal, in aspects of Pharmacy Services and associated technical activities.
* Assist with the operation and maintenance of quality systems, ensuring compliance with the terms of the MHRA Manufacturing "Specials" Licence regarding all compounding and manufacturing processes.
Unit Overview
The MHRA‑licenced 'Specials' pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern, purpose‑built unit. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy and pre‑pack (over‑labelling and repackaging) products, supplying both the Trust and external organisations.
