We are recruiting for a 2 x Quantity Surveyors to join us here at Octavius.
The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) is accountable for the Southern Region's renewals programme (CP7 & CP8) and through collective expertise will develop, mobilise and deliver a £9 billion programme between 2024 – 2034.

We are keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors to join our commercial team. Ideally, You'll be comfortable working with NEC forms of contract and will have previous knowledge of working on Network Rail owned infrastructure. Alternatively, you'll have an appetite to learn this very busy sector.
You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)
* Accountability for the financial and contractual performance of your projects, taking guidance from a Senior or Managing QS.
* Manage the Supply Chain effectively, building trusted partnerships with our suppliers.
* Monitor the progress of works and report on project performance.
* Ensure that Octavius' and clients' assurance process, including all legislative, mandatory policies and procedures, are followed.
* Lead by example by engendering the Octavius culture and that of the wider framework, and its Values.

About you…. (what you are skilled at)
* Extensive recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role, working on multiple projects valued between £1m - £10m.
* Ability to work independently without supervision.
* Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration.
* Evidence of building effective relationships with teams.
* Demonstrable experience of coaching, mentoring and managing people.
* Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines.
* Experience in a civil engineering environment, with some knowledge of Rail infrastructure.
* Good level IT proficiency.
* Thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools.
* Understanding of Lean principles (desirable).
You'll bring… (your wealth of experience & qualifications)
* Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification / relevant experience).
* Hold or working towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body i.e. Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered
Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) (desirable).
