The successful candidate will direct activities relating to Quality Control within the Analytical Chemistry team to meet internal, regulatory and customer requirements, and engaging with continuous improvement initiatives. 1. General Duties Supervising and co-ordinating all analytical Quality Control work in conformance with approved methods and systems to ensure, by inspection and testing, that no materials or products are used or dispatched which have failed specification. Interface with production activities and requirements and implement where necessary additional testing to establish high confidence levels in the process. To be responsible for the preparation and review of Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, validation protocols and Product Specifications. To review and release raw materials, in process materials and components and review finished goods analytical results. To assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods and specifications To ensure all materials required for laboratory use are ordered and sufficient reference samples are maintained to allow incoming goods inspection and testing, in-process and finished goods testing to be conducted without delay. To apply robust root cause analysis tools to manage the investigation, review and reporting of OOS results. To own CAPA investigations and develop robust verification of effectiveness (VoE) plans. Monitor and report suitable metrics including improvement and quality goals for the Laboratory. To co-ordinate the calibration and validation programme for laboratory instrumentation To collaborate with the R&D workstream on the test method re-validation programme. Develop, maintain, and review for ongoing suitability, competency assessment plans for all Analytical Chemistry staff. Maintain and review compliance with GMP for all areas. To liaise with other department heads when and if required To assist with investigating customer complaints as requested by the customer or QA department. To reallocate resource to accommodate urgent testing, as required To assist in the implementation of the site quality system and revision of systems as required. To participate in the internal and external audits of the TBCT quality management system and to respond to findings where appropriate. Educational Qualifications A degree in Chemistry or closely related subject. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience working in Chemistry Laboratory Minimum 2 years experience within a Pharmaceutical or Medical Device environment Experience in the Management of staff Knowledge of current EP/USP methods Skills Effective communication (written & oral) Strong data interpretation and problem-solving skills If you're ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and collaborative environment, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
