Job Purpose
As a Water Event Analyst you will report to a Water Events Manager and form part of the wider Monitoring & Control team at United Utilities. You will have regional ownership of all reactive Events and Planned interruptions on the water network, managing through to completion and ensuring accurate interruption to supply information is recorded. You will also be responsible for proactively monitoring and identifying issues in the Water Network. Using a variety of tools and multiple systems, you will need to effectively review trends and highlight any performance issues to the relevant teams to mitigate customer contact. This is a Full time vacancy. You will work 37 hours per week between the hours of 7am and 10pm, Sat-Sun.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* To manage reactive Events, Incidents and Planned Interruptions across the water network through to completion.
* Focal point for real time event/incident information and co-ordination.
* Ensure accurate capture of all corporate and regulatory data, reporting all Interruption to supply related information to the wider business.
* Proactively identify any potential network issue through both telemetry and customer data in order to avoid interruption to supply or impact to the customer, responding to asset failures in an efficient way.
* Detect and evaluate deviations from predefined performance targets to generate validated triggers requiring further action for all water network assets.
* Use analysis to convert triggers into time scheduled actions to deliver against SLAs.
* Undertake basic analysis of triggers using various systems (Connectivity diagrams, area Schematics, Aquavista, Watercore, STS) to determine the most probable root cause and establish potential risk to the wider network. Recommending courses of action to return the cause of deviation back to normal operating limits.
* To manage, analyse and coordinate Water Quality Events in both a reactive and proactive manner.
* Support of GIS activity to ensure Interruption to supply is captured accurately for post event validation, providing feedback to field staff when incorrect.
* Follow a robust set of triggers and escalate to stakeholders where necessary.
* Comply with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
* Own the return of operations to a steady state on behalf of water services, based on actual vs target data received in the ICC.
* Proactively keep other areas in the business updated of events and incidents detected and manage as appropriate.
* You will work alongside the Water Network System Operator ensuring any critical water network changes are escalated in a timely manner.
Technical Skills & Experience
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly of technical issues.
* Ability to interpret graphs and technical data.
* Strong computer literacy skills.
* Ability to use corporate systems.
* Ability to organise, plan and prioritise is key.
* Attention to detail is key.
* Excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the phone
