✨ Senior Residential Care Practitioner – Children’s Home ✨ Location: Burton-On-Trent Full Time | Permanent Role Purpose To provide high‑quality care within a children’s residential home, providing stability, and support to children and young people living away from their family home. You will help young people who may have experienced trauma, placement breakdown, emotional or behavioural difficulties, or significant disruptions in their lives. All work is carried out within the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and Ofsted expectations. Key Responsibilities Safeguarding young people through individual risk management, positive engagement, and safe relationship‑building Providing nurturing, therapeutic care and supporting daily routines, including transport to school, activities, appointments, and family contact Encouraging participation in education, hobbies, and completing homework Maintaining a clean, safe home environment and managing domestic chore rotas Working independently and within a professional team, maintaining confidentiality at all times Completing reports, records, and young people’s paperwork (care plans, risk assessments) on time and to required standards Participating in supervision, training, personal development, and completing the Level 4 Diploma within set timelines Acting as a Key Worker, leading on care planning and reviews Conducting supervision reviews with RCPs in line with company protocols Carrying out additional tasks to support the smooth running of the home as requested by the Line Manager Competencies & Qualities Strong verbal & written communication skills Basic computer literacy Empathy, emotional awareness & ability to build rapport Resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure Ability to adapt quickly to changing routines or situations Team player committed to shared goals Able to absorb new information and apply it effectively Active listening skills and awareness of non‑verbal communication Ability to work professionally in challenging circumstances Update and maintains own, professional standards, knowledge and skills.
