JOB TITLE: Vehicle Builder (Rolling Stock) JOB LOCATION: Derby HOURS PER WEEK: 37 Hours a week minimum + Overtime Rates: Mornings - £19.02 PAYE/£24.66 Umbrella Afternoons - £20.43 PAYE/£26.52 Umbrella SHIFTS: Mon to Fri, Mornings (6am-2pm) and Afternoons (2pm-10pm) DURATION: 12 months + Position Summary: The role will entail mechanical assembly of new build trains for the UK rail industry. The position is based on a busy manufacturing plant and all applicants would be expected to complete the following: * Fitting interiors and body sides * Refitting, Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc * Fitting large components such as axle boxes, bogies, valves and couplers * Work from written instruction (VMI) * Work from Mechanical Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements * Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings * Work flexibly within team * Working to the business competency standards (Torque Tightening, Earth Bonding, Rivnut, Monobolt) Backgrounds considered: General manufacturing, assembly, mechanical engineering, automotive mechanics, aircraft fitting, rolling stock assembly, mechanical maintenance, heavy maintenance, machinery maintenance, agricultural engineering, M&E.
