As aNursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children in their early years, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging activities and structured play. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing and inclusive setting where every child feels safe, valued, and supported.
Responsibilities of the Nursery Practitioner:
* Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children in the early years setting, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
* Support children’s early development in line with the EYFS framework, focusing on language, communication, and social interaction.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, storytelling, and creative sessions to encourage exploration and curiosity.
* Monitor and assess children’s progress and development, providing regular feedback to parents and the wider nursery team.
* Promote positive behaviour management strategies, ensuring children feel encouraged, confident, and secure.
* Support children’s personal care routines, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene, maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Requirements of the Nursery Practitioner:To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Experience working with children in an early years or nursery setting (school-based, private nursery, or childcare experience is highly desirable).
* A recognised early years qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Education, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
* An understanding of the EYFS framework, child development principles, and early learning strategies.
* SEN experience is a bonus.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A patient, caring, and creative approach, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive.
* Have anupdated CV(covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and anenhanced DBSregistered to theupdate service(or be willing to apply for one).
