HR Advisor (Generalist)
A fast-paced, vibrant, multi-site Financial Services / Accountancy firm is looking for an experienced
HR Advisor to join its high-performing HR team.
Working within a flat organisational structure, this is a role for someone who thrives in change, enjoys autonomy, and is comfortable operating without heavy processes or rigid frameworks. The business is growing quickly, so you'll need to work at pace, stay one step ahead, and flex priorities at short notice to meet evolving deadlines.
The Role
As a Generalist HR Advisor, you will provide efficient operational support to the HR function while taking an advisory role with managers and employees on HR best practice. You'll offer practical guidance and solutions across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing Employee Relations processes including disciplinaries, probations (extensions and dismissals), and Performance Improvement Plans
Updating and maintaining HR letter templates, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with employment law and best practice
Providing confident, pragmatic HR advice to managers and employees
Supporting HR projects and initiatives as directed by the HR Director
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience working in a fast-paced HR environment
Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified
Experience using an HR database / HRIS
Minimum 2 years' generalist HR experience within Financial Services, Insurance, or another regulated industry
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively
Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible with a strong "can-do" attitude
Personable team player, comfortable managing a busy and varied workload
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage confidently with employees at all levels
Location & Working Pattern
The role is based in Cardiff, you must be able to drive to Bristol as and when needed. You can expect to work from home on average 3 days per week.
