TARCG is working exclusively with a prestigious and established aviation client at the forefront of private and business jet maintenance. We are seeking an experienced B1 Licensed Engineer to join their night shift engineering team, based at Stansted Airport. This is a key position responsible for delivering exceptional line and AOG maintenance under Part-145 controls, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.
The Role
As a B1 Licensed Engineer, you'll be hands-on in performing and certifying scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, working on some of the most advanced business jets in operation today. You'll play a crucial leadership role during night shifts, ensuring all technical, safety, and quality standards are met while supporting crews and collaborating with internal teams to keep aircraft mission-ready.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including defect rectification, inspections, and minor modifications.
* Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections in line with regulatory and internal procedures.
* Execute daily maintenance operations with a focus on minimising downtime.
* Coordinate and action unscheduled maintenance efficiently, supporting timely decision-making.
* Provide expert technical support to flight crew and operations personnel.
* Release work orders and maintenance documentation in full compliance with Part-145 regulations.
* Monitor and manage progress in collaboration with hangar and maintenance leadership.
* Promote a strong safety culture and uphold all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Lead and guide the night shift team to meet departmental and operational targets.
* Communicate clearly across teams, ensuring smooth handovers and ongoing transparency.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of spares and repair solutions.
* Maintain high standards of quality assurance and compliance throughout all maintenance activities.
* Assist in shift transitions, ensuring a seamless flow of information and task continuity.
* Support the wider team and management with ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
* Valid Part 66 B1 License (mandatory)
* EMB 135/145, EMB Phenom, Challenger 604 type rating required; Global Express type rating desirable
* Strong business jet maintenance experience
* Completed Competent Authority Recognised Part-145 Course
* Strong leadership, planning, and team coordination skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proven ability to work under pressure and prioritise in fast-paced environments
* Sound understanding of inspection procedures and maintenance best practices
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance (EASA/CAA and NAA frameworks)
