Role Background:
The Key Account and Business Development Manager position within Uniphar Group's Aid and Development business unit specifically caters to supplying medicines and medical supplies to UN organizations, NGOs, and governments in low and middle-income countries, primarily in Africa and the Middle East. The role entails spearheading business growth and nurturing key accounts within this sector.
Role Purpose:
The Key Account and Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business development initiatives, managing key accounts, and expanding Uniphar Group's presence in the targeted regions. This involves fostering strategic relationships with potential clients, exploring new business opportunities, and ensuring sustainable growth aligned with the company's objectives.
Role Responsibilities
1. Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and pursue business opportunities within the target countries and markets.
2. Key Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients including UN organizations, NGOs, Ministries of Health, Central Medical stores, distributors and other potential clients.
3. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to expand market share and achieve revenue targets.
4. Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations and oversee contract agreements with clients.
5. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, needs, and competitor activities.
6. Client and stakeholder engagement: Travel internationally to meet with existing and potential clients and explore business opportunities.
7. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Experiences
8. Proven track record with 6+ years of relevant experience in sales and business development within the pharmaceutical, medical, or aid & development sector.
9. Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
10. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with business objectives.
11. Communication Skills: Strong presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and proposals.
12. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the aid and development sector, its challenges, and emerging trends.
13. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics and navigate complex environments.
14. Team Collaboration: Capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
