About Us
Kingfisher Telecom is a UK-India telecoms and infrastructure business with operations across both countries. As part of our expanding metals recovery division — driven by copper reclamation from network decommissioning and infrastructure upgrades — we are building a direct UK-to-India copper export operation and are looking for our first key hire to lead field sourcing.
The Role
You will be on the ground buying copper and non-ferrous metals directly from building sites, demolition contractors, electrical contractors, and small collection points across your region — before material reaches the large scrap yards. You know this world already. You move fast, you pay promptly, and you have the relationships that matter at site level.
This is not a desk job. You will be out daily, building and maintaining a network of suppliers who trust you to show up, assess material accurately, and pay fairly and quickly.
What You'll Be Doing
* Buying copper scrap directly from demolition firms, builders, and electrical contractors
* Assessing and grading material on-site (bare bright, millberry, mixed, cable etc.)
* Building a reliable pipeline of repeat suppliers across your region
* Coordinating collection and transport to our consolidation point for export
* Reporting volumes, grades, and pricing back to the commercial team
What We're Looking For
* Hands-on experience buying non-ferrous metals at yard or field level
* Strong existing relationships with demolition contractors, builders, or electrical firms
* Ability to grade copper scrap accurately on sight
* Fast, reliable, and trusted by the people you buy from
* Self-motivated — you manage your own patch and your own time
What We Offer
* £55,000 - £70,000 base salary depending on experience and network
* Volume-based bonus on top of base
