Role Overview
We are looking for a Power / Electrical Engineer Analyst Consultant, suitable for new graduates, Masters or PhDs, or early‑career professionals seeking a purpose‑driven career or returning from a break. As a member of the Energy Infrastructure Transition team, you will launch your engineering and consultancy career in a sector that is rapidly evolving. The team comprises seasoned professionals specialising in engineering, techno‑economic, and management consultancy for the power, clean fuels, waste, and industrial decarbonisation sectors, covering strategy, implementation, and technical/economic aspects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior consultants in delivering projects to clients.
* Conduct research and analysis that underpins consultancy work.
* Manage time across multiple projects, contributing in all phases from data collection to model development.
* Assist in developing techno‑economic models and producing reports and presentations.
* Support proposal preparation to win new contracts.
* Ensure quality and delivery of work, liaising with other consultants and teams.
Examples Of Projects You Will Be Working On
* Network reliability and connection studies.
* Smart grid / network innovation projects.
* Feasibility and implementation studies for renewable energy projects.
* Clean energy infrastructure transition for large energy users and complex sites.
* Developing technical and economic energy sector regulatory frameworks in developing countries.
Key Competencies And Experience
* Strong degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent.
* Excellent understanding of power systems and renewable energy topics.
* Passionate about energy sector transition, innovation and sustainability.
* Familiar with Excel, including data manipulation and modelling.
* Effective communication skills—written, report writing, digital and spoken—English.
* Ability to break down complex research questions, think creatively and solve novel problems.
* Fluency in English.
Desirable
* Previous work, internship, or course project experience in the energy transition industry or consultancy.
* Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish, French or Portuguese.
* Experience with Python, Homer Pro, Helioscope®, PV/Syst®, DigSilent®, PSS/E®, Powerworld®, and/or PLEXOS.
