I am actively recruiting a Children's Home Registered Manager on behalf of my client based in Barnsley to manage their 2-bed Children's Home. My client is a good Ofsted-regulated service and is now looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, dedicated, and professional Registered Manager to join as they continue to grow.
This role requires the successful applicant to have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience and previous management experience with children aged 8-18 with EBD.
Main purpose of the role:
As the Children's Home Registered Manager, you will hold accountability and overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home to ensure high-quality care, promoting the rights of young people as individuals, and providing care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation.
You will lead a team of care workers, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance to achieve positive outcomes for the young people, supporting their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development, as well as the strategic development of the home.
Children's Home Registered Manager Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with legislation.
* Adhere to all legislative guidelines regarding Health & Safety.
* Maintain all records related to the young people.
* Provide management information as required.
* Develop and promote new techniques as appropriate.
* Attend, prepare, and chair various meetings internally and externally.
* Assist with on-call duties on a rota basis.
* Write concise and evaluative reports.
* Make decisions where appropriate.
* Oversee all admissions and discharges to and from the home.
* Participate in recruitment activities within the home.
* Ensure all staff are adequately inducted.
* Monitor the service budget and financial transactions.
* Promote the home positively in the community.
Children's Home Registered Manager Requirements:
* Enthusiasm for providing high-quality care and education.
* NVQ Level 5 in Management.
* Experience managing a team.
* Knowledge of the Children's Act 1989 & Care Standards Act 2000.
* Understanding of the needs of vulnerable individuals.
* High standards of safe working practices.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Flexible and reliable.
