The Manager will play a vital role in supporting individuals back into meaningful employment, helping them develop confidence, structure, and pride through work.

Alongside managing daily café operations, the Manager will mentor and lead a diverse team, providing on‑the‑job training, supporting staff to gain skills and recognised qualifications and creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive working environment.

* Supportive working environment with a friendly team
* Opportunity to lead and shape a dedicated team as part of an exciting new social enterprise project
* A varied, hands‑on role with real responsibility
* Other generous employee benefits

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

* Oversee the daily running of the café, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, food hygiene standards and cleanliness;
* Manage, motivate, and support a diverse team with varying needs, abilities, and experience levels;
* Plan staff rotas, manage attendance and support staff development and training;
* Work in the kitchen as required, including food preparation and cooking;
* Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations are adhered to at all times;
* Manage stock control, ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships;
* Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve any issues promptly;
* Monitor costs, reduce waste, and support the financial performance of the café;
* Maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive working environment.

Person Specification

Ideally all of these requirements should be met by the candidate on appointment. However, a candidate who does not meet a particular requirement may be considered if the shortfall can be remedied within a reasonable time and the candidate offers other valuable skills, knowledge or experience.

* Prior experience of working in a café, restaurant or hospitality management role
* Strong kitchen experience, including cooking and food preparation
* Relevant food safety qualifications (e.g. Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent)
* Sound knowledge of food hygiene, allergen management and health & safety regulations
* Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage a team with different requirements and working styles
* Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and busy periods
* Proactive, hands‑on attitude with strong problem‑solving skills and an eye for detail

Further Information and How to Apply
